NSJ Spring Membership Meeting

Sunday, May 16  7:30pm under the NSJ pavilion

All NSJ members are invited to attend this bi-annual board meeting for the membership.   Members will be updated on recent and planned improvements plus vote on revised by-laws.  Meet this year’s board members and learn about what will be happening at NSJ this summer.

 

First Annual Membership Open House

Sunday, May 23  12:00-8:00pm

Do you have friends or new neighbors who are looking for a way to spend the summer?  NSJ would like to invite prospective members to spend the day, explore the grounds, swim, play tennis and see if an NSJ membership is right for them.  While 2010 membership is full, there may be a chance for newcomers to receive an August membership this summer or at least get on the waiting list for 2011.  Pass it on! 

 

4^th of July/Member Appreciation Day

Sunday, July 4  1:00-4:00pm

This annual celebration is a blast!  Look forward to some new traditions at the pool.  We’re going to have FREE hamburgers and hot dogs, a bike-decorating contest, and some much-loved favorites like the soda/juice-box toss, t-shirt relays and diving for pennies.  If you’ve never seen the “greased pig” in the dive well, you’ll have to come check it out and maybe even participate!  All-in-One Entertainment will provide the music and announcing for this once-a-year special event.  Don’t miss it!

 

Family Fun Days

Saturday, June 5  1:00-4:00pm

Sunday, August 29  1:00pm-4:00pm

Come celebrate summer with a fun day of activities for the entire family!  Veteran DJ, Greg Birmingham, is on hand to spin dancing tunes and lead an afternoon of games, contests, prizes and FUN!  Do you like water balloons?  Splash contests?  Hula hooping?  The party gets better every year!  Bring dinner to cook on the pool’s gas grills or pick up a treat at the snack bar.  Visit with old friends and make new ones – just be there!  We have an extra special treat this year – SANTA will be stopping by at our August Family Fun Day to take early requests allowing you to capture some great photos with the kids.

 

Dive-in Movie Night

Monday, July 19  8:00pm

Bring the kids and enjoy an evening on the lawn and in the water to watch a kid-friendly movie on a 10’x10’ inflatable screen by the pool.  There will be a popcorn machine, music videos and dancing before and after the film, plus games and prizes for the kids.  A great family night out!

 

Adult Nights

The kids don’t have all the fun at NSJ – wait til you see what we’ve got cookin’ for the over 18 crowd this summer! 

 

The first NSJ Adult Night, June 26, will be a repeat of last year’s amazing CRAB FEAST with a DJ providing the entertainment.  Bushels of #1 crabs (you heard right - #1!) will be steamed on site and served al fresco under the NSJ Pavilion.  Come ready to crack!  Dancing under the pavilion follows.  The menu includes:

       -        #1 Steamed Crabs

       -        Burgers and dogs

       -        Fresh Steamed Corn

       -        Cole Slaw, Potato Salad, Macaroni Salad

       -        Dessert Items

       -        Bread, rolls, soft drinks

Did you miss the live band last year?  Well pull out a pen and mark Saturday, July 24 on your calendar!  MISSPENT YOUTH will be back at NSJ for an incredible night of music and dancing.  You can check out their website at www.misspentyouth.com.   Their infectious dance tunes, specializing in ‘80s to current favorites, will have everyone on the dance floor under the Pavilion.  Please bring a munchie to share – your famous hot h’ors d’oeuvres, boxed brownies, secret-ingredient dip, or a bag of chips will do.

Teen Nights

Middle schoolers (rising 6^th graders through graduated 8^th graders) will have three opportunities to get together with their friends this summer for this special evening event just for them.  There will be a DJ playing their favorite music, dancing, swimming, plus pizza and snacks for sale.  This is a popular event so when the time comes, sign up early!  Click on the link for rules relating to Teen Nights.
