
NSJ Blue Marlins Dive Team Coaches Corner

We are excited about the 2008 dive season and are
pleased to welcome back Jeff Salgado
and Maureen
Theis as the North St.
Johns dive team coaches!
Jeff Salgado:
Jeff is
currently a senior attending UMBC, and is also a member of the Retriever Dive
Team. He has been diving for nine years and has helped coach the club team at
Saint Bonaventure University, where he dove for one year. In addition, he has
also coached the Retriever dive program for younger and intermediate divers.
Jeff has been selected as a US Open Qualifier for the Germantown meet and named
the 2007 Most Outstanding Diver in America’s East Conference Meet, Two- time
America East Aquatic Performer in 2005, and in high school was awarded the
Gettysburg area aquatic athlete of the year.
Maureen (Mo) Theis:
Maureen
graduated from Saint Bonaventure University with a degree in Elementary and
Special Education. She has earned her master’s degree in school counseling at
Loyola College in May 2006, and has obtained a counselor position with Sparrow’s
Point High School in Baltimore County. Maureen is a former gymnast of ten years
that converted to competitive diving in her senior year of high school. Maureen
was a member of the St. Bonaventure Dive team for four years, and has won many
awards and honors. She was named the 2004 Atlantic 10 Conference Diver of the
year and has received the gold medal in the three-meter diving competition and
the silver on the one-meter board. Maureen has just completed her fourth year as
the head dive coach at Loyola College. In addition, she has four years
experience coaching a summer league at the Mill Creek Towne Swim Club in
Montgomery County.
